* Head-to-Head

* This evening encounter will be the first game between Guinea-Bissau and Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations.

* Ghana are winless in their last four Africa Cup of Nations games (D2 L2), their worst run since January 2000 to January 2002 (also four).

* Guinea-Bissau are one of the four teams who failed to score a goal in the first two matchdays of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (with Congo DR, Burundi and Namibia).

* Ghana failed to score in four of their last six Africa Cup of Nations games, as many as in their previous 26.

* Guinea-Bissau will be looking for their first three points today to ensure that they qualify for the knock-out stages since they are on bottom with one point.

* The Black Stars successes in the competition came in 1963, 1965, 1967 and 1982 when they lifted the title.

* Ghana have reached the semis at the last six tournaments dating back to 2008 when they were the host country and the last time Ghana won AFCON since their fourth success in 1982 (37 years ago). Can Ghana conquer Africa again in this year's edition?

* Ghana will be looking for their first win in this year's Africa Cup of Nations tournament tonight against Guinea-Bissau since they opened their campaign with unconvincing 2-2 draw against Benin and their last outing ended 0-0 as the defending Champions, Cameroon.

* Guinea Bissau are without a victory in their previous five games as they hit the back of the net in just one.

* Guinea-Bissau won only five of the last twenty games. The players lead by the coach Baciro Cande have not tasted success in their last twelve games away from home.

* Guinea-Bissau’s poor record at the Africa Cup of Nations means they will need to be at their very best to come anywhere close to matching Ghana.

* Guinea-Bissau have lost 3 of their last 4 matches (AFCON).

* Ghana Black Stars are unbeaten in their last 5 matches in all competitions.

* Ghana hit the back of the net in seven of their last ten away games as they won five and kept a clean sheet in five.

* The 32nd edition of AFCON is Guinea-Bissau's 2nd appearance while it is the 22nd appearance for Ghana.

* Kwasi Appiah's side will be looking to avoid a shock early exit from this year's Africa Cup of Nations should they lose to Guinea-Bissau tonight.

* Ghana are in second place in Group F with two points, and would need to win to ensure the Black Stars book their place in the knock-out stages or should they draw can qualify as one of the best third place teams.

* Guinea-Bissau made their debut in the AFCON history in the 2017 edition and they finished bottom of their group with one point (D1  L2), they are currently bottom of Group F and it look likely same can happen should they lose tonight to Ghana (D1  L1).

* Guinea-Bissau qualified for their second AFCON in a row but it's look difficult for them to qualify to the knock-out stages unless they win tonight encounter against Ghana.

* Guinea-Bissau will preserve to win against Ghana since they look for a ticket to their first AFCON knock-out stages ever.

* It will take extra effort for Baciro Cande's team, Guinea-Bissau to go any further this year.
