* That record belongs to Obuasi Goldfields - now AshantiGold SC- who mortified N.P.A Anchors of Liberia 8-1 in the Preliminary Round of the Caf Champions Cup - as it was then known - on the 26th March 1995. Four great goals by lethal striker Kofi Debrah, a hat-trick by Eben Hagan, and one strike by Kwabena Boateng made goal scoring easy. In the 1995 Ghana League goal-king, Debrah scored three goals in six minutes in the 22nd, 24th, and 28th minute and added another in the 76th minute.

* The Liberians substituted their goal-keeper Latec Johnson in the first half after he had conceded six goals from the 7th minute to the 42nd minute. Anchors pulled a goal back through substitute Emmanuel Horton, but Debrah and Hagan completed the rout in the last 14 minutes of play. The Miners’ historic score-line slipped into oblivion when ASEC Mimosas dimmed the hysteria of the Anchors' pummeling by knocking Goldfields out in the second round of the competition.
