OFFICIAL: Atalanta Sign Kamaldeen Sulemana from Southampton

Italian Serie A side Atalanta BC have officially completed the signing of Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana from English Championship club Southampton.
The 23-year-old joins the Bergamo-based club in a deal worth €17 million, with an additional €4 million in performance-based add-ons. As part of the agreement, Southampton will retain a 15% sell-on clause on any future transfer involving the Ghana international.
Sulemana, known for his explosive pace and dribbling ability, makes the move after a challenging season with Southampton, who were relegated from the Premier League in 2023 but secured promotion back to the top flight for the 2024/25 season. Despite flashes of brilliance, the winger struggled with injuries and consistency during his time in England, but his talent remained evident—prompting interest from several European clubs.
Atalanta, fresh off a strong campaign and looking to bolster their squad ahead of their Champions League return, see Sulemana as a key addition to their attacking options under manager Gian Piero Gasperini. The move also marks a significant step for the former Rennes and FC Nordsjælland star, who will now compete at the highest level in Italy.
Kamaldeen has earned over 20 caps for the Ghana national team and is expected to play a prominent role for the Black Stars in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers and AFCON tournament.
