KWAME OPOKU PAYS TRIBUTE TO LIVERPOOL STAR DIOGO JOTA AFTER KOTOKO WIN AGAINST HEARTS OF OAK

Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku paid tribute to Diogo Jota after scoring the winning goal against Accra Hearts of Oak in the President's Cup match.
Kwame Opoku's strike grabbed the match winner for the Kumasi-based club after being a goal down at halftime.
During the striker's celebrations, he expressed a gesture to the late Liverpool and Portugal international striker Diogo Jota, who was tragically involved in a car accident in Spain.
Jota, aged 28, died in a car crash on Thursday, 3rd July, 2025 along with his 25-year-old brother, Andre Silva. Their joint funeral was held on Saturday, 5th July, 2025 in Portugal.
According to reports, their car, a Lamborghini, left the road due to a tire blowout while overtaking another vehicle and then caught fire.
Jota had married his long-term partner, Rute Cardoso, with whom he had three children, just 11 days ago.
He scored 65 goals in 182 appearances for the Reds, helping them win the FA Cup and League Cup in 2022 and the Premier League title last season.
Jota moved to Wolves from Atletico Madrid in 2017, initially on a season-long loan before making the switch permanent, and he went on to score 44 goals in 131 appearances across his three seasons with the club.
