2025-26 GHANA PREMIER LEAGUE PREVIEW: BECHEM UNITED VS ACCRA HEARTS OF OAK

Hearts of Oak will look to build on their 1-0 Ghana Premier League Match Day 3 win over Techiman Eleven Wonders as they travel to Bechem to face a struggling Bechem United on October 3, 2025, in Match Day 4 of the Ghana Premier League at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.

Not only were Bechem unable to secure a win on Sunday against Heart of Lions (1-0), but they also lost three weeks ago at Bibiani Gold Stars (2-1) in the season opener. 

Desmond Issah Botchway's men can take some solace in the fact that those defeats have come away from Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park-their only losses of the season to date-while on their own turf, they remain unbeaten in their last match. 

Unlike Bechem United, Hearts of Oak enjoyed their weekend, beating Eleven Wonders 1-0 to secure two wins in three matches in the Ghana Premier League. 

In the process, they secured back-to-back clean-sheet victories for the second time this season.

Pre-match interviews with both coaches ahead of the encounter.

“We have played three matches and we are doing very well, but there are a few things we need to work on to make the team a complete one. We have only one point. Hearts of Oak are a good side. We are preparing well, we are making sure that the match is ours at the end of the game,” Desmond-Issah Botchway said.

These players are some of the best professionals that I have ever seen. We do a lot of video sessions, character sessions, and they know what exactly is at stake. They know how tactful this game will be, and they know how we need to work hard to come out with good effort, energy, and at the end of the day get the best outcome to push the club,” Didi Dramani said.

Goalkeeper Benjamin Asiedu Kwesi, defenders Adams Sanut, Yaw Acheampong, and Baba Moro Abdulai, midfielders Frank Amankwah and Boa-At Regain, and strikers Darlvin Yeboah and Foster Sakitey are the eight players who have been regular starters for Bechem United under Desmond-Issah Botchway in their three league matches.

Coach Desmond-Issah Botchway is comfortable playing a 3-4-3 formation at home ground, which he used against Basake Holy Stars in their week two fixture.

Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, defenders Ali Mohammed and Yaw Amankwa Boafi, and midfielders Martin Karikari, Ransford Mensah, Abdul Karim, and Enock Asubonteng are the seven players who have been regular starters for Hearts of Oak under Coach Didi Dramani.

Coach Dramani has used a 3-6-1 formation in his last two games, switching from a 4-5-1 formation that resulted in a goalless draw in week one.
