GOLD STARS STUN KOTOKO 2-1 IN GHALCA TOP FOUR OPENER, HEARTS OF OAK EDGE LIONS

In an exciting opening day of the 2025 GHALCA Top Four tournament, Ghana Premier League Champions Bibiani Gold Stars secured a 2:1 comeback victory against Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
Match Highlights:
Kotoko took the lead in the 16th minute when Albert Amoah expertly controlled a cross-field pass and calmly slotted it past Emmanuel Kobi to make it 1-0.
However, Gold Stars equalized just six minutes later when Samuel Atta Kumi scored a penalty after being fouled in the box by Kotoko defender Samba.
Disaster struck for Kotoko in the 63rd minute when defender Henry Ansu's attempted back pass to goalkeeper Mohammed Camara rolled into the net, gifting Gold Stars the lead and ultimately the win.
In the other match, Hearts of Oak edged out Heart of Lions 1-0, thanks to an own goal by Ebenezer Abban in the 38th minute, following a well-taken free-kick by Ransford Mensah.
This victory marked Hearts of Oak's second win over Heart of Lions in three days.
Match Day Two Fixtures:
Heart of Lions will face Asante Kotoko at 3:00 pm on Wednesday at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
Bibiani Gold Stars will host Hearts of Oak in the last game of match day two.
