Kumasi Asante Kotoko was held to a goalless draw against Heart of Lions at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 5, 2025, in Week Four of the Ghana Premier League.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko shared a point with Heart of Lions at home after winning their opening game of the season against Berekum Chelsea.
The result was disappointing for the Kumasi-based club, while the visitors were happy with the outcome.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko came close to scoring during the first half when striker Albert Amoah's volley strike was denied by the crossbar.
Heart of Lions made an ambitious attempt in the first half, but Asante Kotoko's goalkeeper, Dari Aziz Haruna, kept it out.
Kotoko dominated possession in the first half but found it difficult to penetrate a compact and disciplined Lions defense. Heart of Lions defenders were tactically disciplined at the back throughout the game.
Both teams executed well in possession and had goal-scoring attempts in the second half, but the deadlock wasn't broken.
Heart of Lions were organized and purposeful on the counter-attack, utilizing their pace on the wings to probe Kotoko's defense, although they struggled to create clear-cut scoring chances.
Kotoko weren't able to end Lions' unbeaten record in the Ghana Premier League after six games played both home and away (W5 D1 GF10 GA2).
Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder Hubert Gyau was voted MVP of the match after his phenomenal performance against Heart of Lions.
