• LET'S LOOK AT THE YEAR ENDING WITH 5 AT THE ACCRA SPORTS STADIUM

WE ARE IN 2025.

• 1965

Hearts of Oak                2-2 Asante Kotoko

• 1975

Hearts of Oak                1-0 Asante Kotoko

Robert Foley 32nd minute. This victory was notable as Robert Foley set a club record by becoming the only player at the time to score the sole winner in both a 1-0 and a 0-1 Hearts victory over their fierce rivals in separate seasons (the other being in 1969).

• NB: At that time, Hearts of Oak had gone 7 games without a win, while Asante Kotoko, on the other hand, were draw specialists, with 5 draws.

• 1985

There was no league game in Accra; it was played on December 23, 1984.

• 1995

• NB:Referee Yaw Ametepey awarded a questionable penalty to Hearts after Isaac Oduro went down under a harmless challenge from goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi. A temporary halt ensued as Kotoko fans threw missiles onto the pitch.

• Calm was restored minutes later, allowing captain Robin Gnagné to take the penalty for Hearts, but the Ivorian's strike was saved well by goalkeeper Eric Ofori-Antwi, which perhaps served as poetic justice.

• Hearts of Oak were pegged back, however, as miscommunication between goalkeeper Tetteh Luggard and Robin Gnagné allowed Dauda Mohammed to sneak in behind and poke in what eventually proved to be the winner.

• NB: On September 1, 2015, the GFA Disciplinary Committee upheld Hearts of Oak's protest against Asante Kotoko regarding the eligibility of Obed Owusu.

• Three points and three goals were also deducted from Asante Kotoko's total accumulated points in the GPL. A fine of GHC 5,000 is to be paid by Asante Kotoko, with half of it going to Hearts of Oak.

• In September 2015, Asante Kotoko appealed the decision, arguing that the player had actually served his suspension by playing in an earlier "Elite Clubs Competition" match against Dunkwa United.

Following this appeal, the GFA Appeals Committee overturned the Disciplinary Committee's decision, ruling that the Elite Clubs Competition matches were official and the suspension had been served.
