Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has been appointed as a member of the Management Committee of the Black Galaxies (CHAN team). He brings his rich international experience and leadership to the national setup.

Badu, who served as deputy captain of the Black Stars, enjoyed a distinguished career with the senior national team, earning 78 international caps.

He was instrumental in Ghana’s historic 2009 U-20 AFCON and FIFA U-20 World Cup triumph, famously scoring the decisive penalty winning goal in the World Cup final that secured the title for Ghana.

Badu also represented the Black Stars at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and featured in five Africa Cup of Nations tournaments (2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2017).

The new committee will be chaired by Kingsley Osei Bonsu, a member of the Executive Council and CEO of Bechem United, with Daniel Agboga, Chairman of the Volta Regional Football Association, serving as Vice Chairman.

The lineup also includes seasoned administrators such as Michael Kofi Oduro, CEO of Na-God FC, and Daniel Asante of Wamanafo Mighty Royals.

Black Galaxies Achievements:

The Black Galaxies came second at the 2009 African Nations Championship. At the 2014 edition hosted in South Africa, Ghana reached the final again but lost in a penalty shoot-out to Libya.

They have also appeared at the WAFU Nations Cup four times, hosting the tournament twice and winning it on both occasions in 2013 and 2017.
