GHANA'S BLACK STARS HELD TO 1:1 DRAW BY CHAD IN WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS

Ghana's Black Stars drew 1:1 with Chad in Group I's matchday seven fixture of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno in N'Djamena. 

Black Stars skipper Jordan Ayew opened the scoring with a finish off a brilliant assist from Mohammed Kudus in the 17th minute. 

The Black Stars dominated possession and continued searching for another goal opportunity in the game. 

Jordan Ayew's goal-scoring chance found Semenyo in the box in the 44th minute, but the strike missed the target. 

Mohammed Kudus got on the end of Caleb Yirenkyi's pass in the box, but it narrowly went wide in the 64th minute. 

Ecua Celestin equalized for Chad in the 89th minute after the ball deflected off Ghana defender Gideon Mensah. 

The Black Stars suffered a setback in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers after being held to a draw by Chad, who earned their first points in the qualifying campaign. 

The Black Stars currently top Group I with 16 points in 7 games played. 

Ghana will face Mali next at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8, 2025.
