Ghana's Black Princesses kicked off their FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup qualifier against Tunisia with a convincing 2-0 win in the first leg.

Mercy Attobrah opened the scoring in the 4th minute, giving Ghana an early advantage.

Although midfielder Sarah Nyarko had a promising solo effort to double the lead, the Tunisian goalkeeper expertly blocked her shot.

Despite Ghana's relentless attacks, Tunisia held firm, and the teams headed into halftime with Ghana maintaining their 1-0 lead.

In the second half, Ghana continued to press, creating an early opportunity, but Mercy Attobrah's attempt was ruled offside.

However, Attobrah redeemed herself with a precise finish after receiving a through pass from Linda Owusu Ansah, doubling Ghana's lead and securing the win for the Black Princesses.

The second leg is set for September 28, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

A strong performance in the return match would likely see Ghana progress to the next stage of the qualifiers.
