Kumasi Asante Kotoko defeated Bibiani Gold Stars 2-0 in an outstanding matchday 2 fixture of the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Each half goal secured the maximum three points for the Porcupine Warriors lads in a Wednesday night football match.

Peter Amidu Acquah scored the opening goal in the 15th minute, assisted by Albert Amoah.

Bibiani Gold Stars came into the game after conceding the goal, but they couldn't restore the level before the break.

Albert Amoah extended the lead with individual brilliance in the 50th minute of the second half.

Kotoko defenders were tactically disciplined throughout the entire duration of the game and prevented Gold Stars from getting an equalizer.

Albert Amoah, with a goal and assist, was voted man of the match after his individual contribution yielded the team a win.

After today's win, Asante Kotoko sits in 4th position with 7 points and has one outstanding game, which is the week three fixture against Basake Holy Stars.

While Gold Stars occupy 7th position with six points after three games, with one outstanding game remaining, that's matchday three fixture against Berekum Chelsea.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will play as guests to Nations FC, and Bibiani Gold Stars will also be on the road against Vision FC in matchday nine, scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2025.
